State wide figures
- The number of criminal incidents recorded by Victoria Police in the year to 30 June 2024 was 410,108, up 10.7% from 370,613 incidents recorded in the same period last year.
- The number of offences recorded by Victoria Police in the year 30 June 2024 was 552,228. This is up 9.1% from 506,214 offences recorded in the same period last year.
- Alleged offender incidents increased 11.8% to 175,997 in the year to 30 June 2024, up from 157,412.
- Person victim reports increased in the year to 30 June 2024, up 10.6% (22,874) to 238,054 person victim reports.
- Family incidents increased in the year to 30 June 2024, up 6.1% from 93,111 to 98,816.
- Alleged offender incidents with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status increased 24.2% (3,836) to 19,659 in the year to 30 June 2024.
- In the year to 30 June 2024 the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status of those involved in Family incident increased for Affected family members (up 10.9% to 6,189) while Other parties increased (up 16.2% to 7,767).

The highest criminal incident rates in Local Government Areas in the year ending 30 June 2024 were:
- Melbourne 15,115.9 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 5.4%)
- Latrobe (11,578.8 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 9.8%)
- Yarra (11,045.1 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 8.5%)
- Mildura (10,330.1 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 4.2%)
- Ararat (9,345.7 incidents per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 25.8%).
Recorded Offences
The highest recorded offence rates in Local Government Areas in the year ending 30 June 2024 were:
- Melbourne (20,827.5 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 7.0%)
- Latrobe (15,979.7 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 7.0%)
- Mildura (13,883.4 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 2.6%).
- Yarra (13,543.6 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, up 4.9%)
- Horsham (12,989.3 offences per 100,000 estimated resident population, down 2.0%).
